Easiest way to join Garud Commando is a two step process.
Prepare for the written exam for NDA (if you are eligible) or AFCAT. Pass the written exam.
Passing the written exam is relatively easy. Now comes the difficult part.
Prepare for SSB and try to clear it. The success rate is relatively very low. Then clear the medicals and then hope to get into the merit list.
Having completed the step 1 which includes the training at NDA or AFA. You volunteer to join Garud Commandos and are selected after tough probation.
